Crochet: Lacy Poncho for Mommy

I have thought occassionally about this poncho pattern combining knit and crochet and wanted to make it for myself. I finally moved it to the top of the list as it seems the perfect this for a new, nursing mom. It is so easy to wear, and surprisingly cozy.

I used Paton's Divine yarn in Soft Earth. It's a beautiful blend of taupes and creams.
The pattern is from one of my all-time favorite crochet magazines: Family Circle Easy Crochet Fall/Winter 2005. There are so many great patterns! This is the third I've made.

Once again, I've chosen something calling for large hooks and yarn. I am too impatient for a project that would take me months.

I don't have many things I would call "pretty," but this is classically pretty I think. Just the thing for a little wardrobe boost while I'm changing shape.

Crochet: Best Baby Booties and Cloche

I have made a lot of booties and hats for my girls and as gifts and this is my favorite set by far! I love a hat low on the forehead and think this pretty scallop trim and flower and perfect for my baby girl. It makes her eyes look so huge.
I also love the little vamp on this bootie--the edging looks almost like eyelet and yet it's nothing fancy. Tiny pearlized buttons work just right and seem to keep the strap closed--miracle!
I used some Lion Brand Cotton Ease yarn I had in my stash. It is years old--not sure they make this pretty pale pink anymore. I had it from a project I started on a transatlantic flight while in the first trimester of my first pregnancy--found myself too sick to work on it on the flight and really couldn't stand the sight of it afterwards! Finally, the yarn has been redeemed.
I created the patterns for these based on some other patterns. I would love to do another set in white (perhaps with a trio of three smaller flowers?) and need to write down what I did so I have it for the future... Good for gifts too since this worsted weight yarn works up quickly.
