I have made a lot of booties and hats for my girls and as gifts and this is my favorite set by far! I love a hat low on the forehead and think this pretty scallop trim and flower and perfect for my baby girl. It makes her eyes look so huge.
I also love the little vamp on this bootie--the edging looks almost like eyelet and yet it's nothing fancy. Tiny pearlized buttons work just right and seem to keep the strap closed--miracle!
I used some Lion Brand Cotton Ease yarn I had in my stash. It is years old--not sure they make this pretty pale pink anymore. I had it from a project I started on a transatlantic flight while in the first trimester of my first pregnancy--found myself too sick to work on it on the flight and really couldn't stand the sight of it afterwards! Finally, the yarn has been redeemed.
I created the patterns for these based on some other patterns. I would love to do another set in white (perhaps with a trio of three smaller flowers?) and need to write down what I did so I have it for the future... Good for gifts too since this worsted weight yarn works up quickly.
Do you have a tutorial for the booties? I made the hat and it came out sooo cute. Thanks in advance.

The pattern for the booties for the cloche? Thanks. gloria.rendon@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteCould I get the pattern for the booties as well. I just made your cloche and it looks fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJill, happy to hear you like the cloche! I created the booties by adapting another pattern I had and I haven't had the time yet to go back and figure out what I did and write it down. Others have asked for it too and I want to make a pair for my new baby so I intend to do it soon and will post it. Sorry to make you wait! I've seen some darling mary jane patterns on etsy if you are anxious--I can't promise when I'll have these done. Thanks.

I’ve had a number of requests for this bootie pattern but it’s one I made up as I went and I haven’t gotten back to it to figure it out again! I am still intending to do it, before my little baby is too big for booties, and when I do I’ll post it. So sorry I don’t have it right now. I’ll try to hurry it up!
ReplyDeleteHi, I love this hat and would really like to make one for my baby girl who is 3 wks old. If you could send it to me my address is billiejokelley@yahoo.com thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love the baby hat and am getting a friend to help me make it for my granddaughter who will be born the end of November. Now that I've seen the booties, I'd love to make those as well. Have you posted the tutorial for them yet? You do such lovely work. Hope I can learn to crochet. I knit but have never crocheted. If you are emailing the pattern for the booties or how to get the pattern, my email address is jofeemster at charter dot net. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteI made your beautiful cloche for a baby shower gift today. I also used Lion Brand Cotton Ease and love the results. Thank you so very much for sharing your creativity and sense of style with your fans! I also adore your booties and would like to make them as part of the gift. Do you think you'll be able to share that pattern as well? I don't know enough about crochet to make patterns from sample pictures. THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteHello! I have been admiring your adorable baby booties and hat for a while now, and would love to make a set for my sister. Are you sharing your pattern? If so, could I please have a copy?
