The landscape is starting to wake up a bit around here, but not fast enough for me. I need more color! Do you feel the same way? I keep gravitating to this yellow.
Tess seems to like it too. She kept pulling this fleece top out of the sewing room while I was working on it and asking me if she could wear it. She even took out the pins.
This Button Back Bateau Neck Top is a sneak peek at a pattern I hope will be ready for testing in the next week or two. As usual, things are taking longer than I hoped. (UPDATE: the pattern is now available here.)
And, Easter is this weekend! Yikes. (Those are Peeps on a stick Tess is eating.) I haven't started the dresses. Think I can pull it off? I'm not sure I should try.
I am searching for color here in Florida where there was frost on my grass when I woke up this morning. Love the little top and of course the little on in it.

Perfect top for this in between kind of weather! Can't wait to see the pattern- Tess looks too cute in it!
ReplyDeleteWe've still got snow on the ground! However devoid of color you may feel the landscape is, your pictures still look so refreshing to me. I love that top, and the yellow fleece is perfect for this time of year. So cheery and cozy. And as far as the Easter dresses go, give it a shot! Worst thing that happens is you don't finish them in time which won't make any difference to not having attempted it in the first place.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute top! I love the colour! I've been searching out 'yellow' lately, too. I think it's an expression of my WISH for a bit of springtime sunshine!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!

That top is adorable and so is your daughter! I love yellow as it brightens up any type of day :)
ReplyDeleteThis top is really cute! Wish i was able to test it. Guess i'll just have to buy it when its ready. My kids are getting the peeps on a stick on sunday! I had them every easter so they will too!
ReplyDeleteI am actually debating if i should attempt an easter dress and outfit for my kids. I like having something homemade in their basket but i dont think i have time for clothes
We're just heading out of a super hot summer here in Melbourne so after another 36 degree (97 Fahrenheit) day last week I'm loving the cool days we've just started to have. I'm excited to see how your pattern turns out as I've been looking for a bateau neck pattern ever since Ruby insisted on wearing a Bonds singlet which was too big so the straps were too long I fixed this by tying in knots in the straps on each side and loved the little lady bateau neck look. I hope you and your family have a lovely Easter.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Both your sweet baby girl and the top! Well, if anyone can pull off the dresses in record time, it would be YOU! :O)
ReplyDeleteSure you can totally make lots of dresses by then! I just wish you lots of sleep and sewing good fortune.
ReplyDeleteOh, perfect! This would be a difficult one for my toddler Houdinis who love to get dressed and undressed 5 minutes later...well, until the twins learn to undo each other's buttons. Really, the whole design is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your reactions and plans. I am sewing for Easter...! Wanted to mention too thanks for all the emails about pattern testing. I haven't gone through them all yet and will be making contact after the Easter flurry. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe button back top reminds me of the big bird from “Sesame Street”.
ReplyDeleteYellow is a very cheerful colour and looks great on kids. Toddlers of that age love bright colours anyway.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your children and family. GOD BLESS YOU AND CARE FOR YOU AND YOUR PARTNER
